Photographer and journalist · Ålesund

I see the person before the situation.

I'm mum to Benjamin and married to Joakim. We live in Ålesund, but I'm originally from Grong in Nord-Trøndelag. I trained as a nurse and worked in the field for over ten years before I moved into journalism and photography in 2019.

These days I mostly photograph weddings, but also families, children and businesses, and I still write for VG, Aftenposten, KK and others. I don't have a fixed studio, and what I like best is shooting outdoors or at your place. If we need good light indoors, I bring studio lighting and set up a portable studio.

From nurse to journalist to photographer

Ten years in nursing taught me to stay calm when other people are vulnerable, and to see the person before the situation. When I moved into journalism, I brought that way of looking with me. I wanted to tell real stories about real people, not dress them up.

Photography grew naturally out of the same thing. I'm not after the perfectly posed picture, but after how it actually felt to be there. My goal is that what you end up holding feels personal, lasting, and something you love a little more every time you look at it.

Behind the camera

Where I'm most at home.

Outdoors, at your place, or in the middle of a wedding day. I'd rather blend into the background and let the moments happen on their own.
