Summer in Sunnmøre is short, bright and full of life. Long evenings where the sun barely sets, gardens opened up for a party, and a warmth that lets the day flow of its own accord. It's a lovely time to get married, and one of the busiest. If you're planning a summer wedding, it pays to be early.

A summer day tends to begin calmly, with coffee and the last preparations, and ends with dancing late into the night. I like to be there from early on, while it's still quiet, and capture the small portraits before the day gathers pace. The rest of the day I follow the flow and keep to the edges, so the celebration can live a life of its own.
Gorgeous summer light
The long summer light on the west coast is something all its own. Sun spots moving across the church pews during the ceremony, and a golden hour in the evening that lasts and lasts. I prefer to work with available light and let the light do the work, rather than building everything up from scratch. Where I need it, I bring studio light.
Outdoor ceremony
It's often in the celebration that a wedding truly shows who the couple are, in the stories that get told, in who dances first, and in who cries the most during the speeches. I'm discreet and prefer to take pictures when no one notices, because that's where the real moments are. You don't need to pose. You just need to show up.
